New York Mountains in Mojave National Preserve in south CA

The New York Mountains of Mojave National Preserve in southeast California's Mojave Desert. Joshua tree (Yucca brevifolia). Family: Lilliaceae. The young joshua tree at the bottom corner looks somewhat like a young Mojave yucca. The multiple branches and the rather columnar blade clusters are clues that it is a joshua tree. Mojave yucca has a fairly erect and unitary center stem.
